Srinagar: One policeman was injured on Friday when people resorted to stone pelting at Narbal in the outskirts of Srinagar city. However, the situation was brought under control by police using tear smoke shells. “Budgam Police had taken the cognizance of an arson incident at a religious place in Narbal. A case was registered in police station Magam. Investigation of the case is being followed vigorously. Besides, the Civil and Police administration with the help of respectable people of the area are monitoring the situation, and the situation remained peaceful for the last two days”, a police official said. Moreover, some people blocked the Srinagar-Gulmarg road resulting in stranding of scores of tourist vehicles and local commuters.
