COVID-19: 12 youth booked for organizing picnic in Ganderbal

GANDERBAL — Police arrested at least 12 youth for organizing a picnic for fun in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Official sources said that police received information that over 20 youth are enjoying picnic at Tragbal area, thus violating the social distancing norms.

Police swung into action and raided the spot. Some youth escaped from the spot while 12 persons were arrested and booked under law.

SSP Ganderbal Khalil Poswal said that an FIR vide number 28/2020 U/S 188,269 IPC was registered against them at Police Station Lar. He said those escaped are being traced.

“It is again warned not to congregate in view of threat of COVID-19, otherwise strict legal action shall be taken,” he said.
