
SRINAGAR — Twenty-one more people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir with seventeen among them from Kashmir Valley while four are from Jammu.
The J&K Government’s spokesperson, Rohit Kansal, confirmed the tally of the Union Territory has risen to 245. “17 are from Kashmir and 4 from Jammu,” he said.

Until yesterday, 48,202 people were under observation in J&K. 7,729 were under home quarantine, as per the media bulletin on COVID-19, while 422 were in hospital quarantine.
In Srinagar, fourteen areas have been declared as red zones where all entry and exit points have been sealed.
Among the positive cases, four have died in J&K while six are said to have recovered from the infection and discharged from the hospitals.
There are more than 8,000 cases in the country and nearly 250 have died. Meanwhile, the total death toll due to the virus crossed 1,00,000 mark globally.
