COVID-19: 25 fresh cases in J&K surges tally to 639

SRINAGAR — 25 fresh cases, all from Kashmir valley, tested positive on Thursday in the two COVID designated GMC laboratories at CD Hospital Srinagar and SKIMS lab at Soura, taking the number of cases testing positive in Jammu and Kashmir to 639.

According to reports, out of 25 cases testing positive, 14 are from CD Hospital lab where a total number of 534 samples were collected in 24 hours. 346 were tested on Friday, out of which 14 samples tested positive and the rest were declared negative. The result of 188 samples is awaited here.

642 samples were tested in SKIMS lab where 11 tested positive and the rest negative. As of now, a total number of 358 cases have tested positive here and 9009 cases have tested negative for coronavirus in this particular COVID-19 designated lab.

Out of the 25 positive cases, 12 are from Anantnag, 06 from Kupwara, 02 from Bemina Srinagar, 02 from Shopian and 01 each from Budgam, Bandipora and Baramulla districts.

With these 25 new cases testing positive on Friday, the number of cases testing positive in Jammu and Kashmir so far has reached to 639.

Out of 639 cases, 08 have died and 247 have recovered so far, while as 384 cases are active for coronavirus.
