
SRINAGAR — An 80-year-old female COVID-19 patient who had gone to SKIMS Soura for dialysis was put on wheelchair for a whole day. Family members alleged that doctors provided her a wheelchair after finding no bed for her in the isolation ward.
The elderly woman who hails from central Kashmir’s Budgam district is a diabetic patient who was tested positive for COVID-19 infection.
“For whole day, my grandmother spent time on wheelchair. She is frail and physically week. She needed a bed badly but was not provided,” said the grandchild of this elderly woman, adding, “I felt very bad about the way my grandmother was treated like she was untouchable.”
The elderly woman was referred for dialysis to SKIMS Soura by JVC SKIMS Bemina.
