Chargesheet

SRINAGAR — The Economic Offences Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir has filed a chargesheet before the Court of City Judge (Sub Registrar) Srinagar in connection with a multi-lakh employment scam, officials said.

The chargesheet relates to FIR No. 49/2022 registered under Sections 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the RPC. The case stems from complaints by several inhabitants of Tangmarg who alleged they were cheated on the false promise of jobs in reputed hospitals and banks.

Investigations revealed that the accused, Reyaz Ahmad Taploo of Anchaar Dagapora, Soura, allegedly lured unemployed youth by offering appointments as security guards. He reportedly collected large sums of money and issued fake appointment letters and uniform items to make the offers appear genuine.
