CRPF trooper shot dead in Srinagar

Srinagar: A Central Reserve Police Force trooper was shot dead by unidentified militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s summer capital Srinagar Friday evening, an official said.
He said militants fired at CRPF men in Ael Kadal, killing a trooper on the spot.
The slain trooper was from 44 Battalion of the paramilitary. “Constable Kritikar Nishad of E-Coy 44 Bn CRPF was fired upon by unknown militants leading to his death,” the official informed.
Soon after the incident, area was cordoned off and searches were launched, however, no one was arrested, the spokesman added.
