Crushed by CRPF vehicle, youth dies at SKIMS

Srinagar: Kaisar Ahmad, one of the three young men who was run over by a CRPF armoured vehicle in Nowhatta yesterday in the afternoon, has breathed his last.

Doctors said they did whatever was possible but they could not help him battle his death, beyond a point.

Ahmad, a resident of Namchabal Fateh Kadal, was an orphan whose father and mother had died already. With his two sisters, he was with his aunt.

Earlier doctors attending him at SKIMS said that Kiasar was on double support as he has haemothorax (collection of blood in the pleural space), pneumothorax (abnormal collection of air in lungs), rib fractures and pelvic fracture. They had already said he was highly unstable, Kashmir Life reported.

There were dozens of young men in the hospital for last many hours.

Whether the body was handed over to the family was not immediately known.

Kaisar was critically injured when a CRPF armoured vehicle wildly drove into a group of youth who were protesting and stone pelting in Nowhtata Chowk. Three boys were hit by the vehicle and Kaisar was the most critically injured.
