Srinagar: Hizb-ul-Mujahideen’s young militant commander, Zakir Musa Saturday said that he has dissociated himself from the outfit, saying that he can’t “sacrifice his life for the establishment of a secular state”.

In an audio clip that got viral on social media, Musa said that he stands by his earlier message.

“Hizb ul Mujahideen has disassociated itself from my statement so I am disassociating myself from Hizb. From now I am not associated with Hizb ul Mujahideen. I did not mean to chop heads of every Hurriyat leader but only those who work and support secularism. I stand by my statement but want to clarify that I am not against any particular leader like Geelani sahib,” he said.

“I also know that first of all we have to get rid of Indian occupation but we must have our goal clear and there should be no confusion. I want to make it clear that I am fighting for Islam only but I have nothing to do with ISIS and Al-Qaeda,” Zakir said, adding “In fact I have not made any research about them so far so cannot even reject them categorically.”

Earlier, today Hizb released a statement saying Zakir Musa’s statement in which he has threatened Hurriyat and said that he fights for Islamic struggle is his personal opinion. (With Inputs from KNS)
