Elderly man from Tral injured in Bear attack dies

TRAL — An elderly man who was injured in an attack by a bear in Khana Gund Tral area of Pulwama district on Friday died in Srinagar hospital today.

Sources said that 60-year-old man was grazing the cattle in the upper reaches of Tral when the bear attacked him.

An official said that following the attack, some people raised hue and cry and rescued him from the wild animal. However, the victim sustained serious face injuries.

“The injured was shifted to hospital but today, he succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Abdul Gani Sheikh son of Abdul Wahab, a resident of Khangund Tral.
