Elderly man injured in Bear attack in Tral

TRAL — An elderly man was injured in an attack by a bear in Khangund Tral area of Pulwama district on Friday.

Sources said that 60-year-old man was was grazing the cattle in the upper reaches of Tral when a bear attacked him.

An official said that following the attack, some people raised hue and cry and rescued him from the wild animal. However, the victim sustained serious face injuries.

“The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital Tral where he is undergoing treatment,” said the official.

The injured has been identified as Abdul Gani Sheikh son of Abdul Wahab, a resident of Khangund Tral.
