Elderly woman crushed to death in Srinagar outskirts

SRINAGAR — A 55-year-old woman was crushed to death while her son was seriously injured in a road mishap in Mujgund area of Srinagar outskirts.

An official said that a motorcycle, on which the elderly woman and her son were traveling, was hit by a speedy truck bearing registration number JK16A 8123, resulting in serious injuries to both.

Both were immediately shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar where the woman identified as Sara Begum was declared as brought dead by doctors while her son is undergoing treatment in the hospital.

A police official, while confirming the incident, said that an FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered and both the vehicles have been seized and further investigations are on.
