Encounter breaks out in northern Kashmir’s Handwara

SRINAGAR — An encounter broke out between the forces and militants in Rajwar village in Handwara of northern Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Official sources told the news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that following specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area, a cordon and search operation (CASO) was launched this night.

During the searches, the hiding militants fired upon the security forces, which was retaliated, thus leading to an encounter, they said.
