Ensure free & fair elections, Congress asks PDP

Srinagar: Congress has asked the State Government to ensure free fair elections by- Election to Anantnag, announced yesterday, without using official machinery, for the fact, the Coalition Partner PDP, after sensing the defeat feels anguished highly about the polls results.

Addressing the largely attended gathering of party Workers at Nadihal Rafiabad today, Senior Congress Leader & Former Minister Taj Mohi U Din who presided over the meeting, MLA Vice President Haji Ab. Rashid Dar MLC Vice President Gulam Nabi Monga have said that State Govt should ensure free and fair elections and should not use official machinery, for the fact PDP is highly anguished about the poll results.

Castigating Mehbooba Mufti for getting the Elections announced in the Holy month of Ramzan, Taj Mohi U Din expressed surprise that earlier the Chief Minister ensured deferment of election on the pretext of Law and Order problem now the Chief Minister got the Elections announced by not caring about the Holy month, starting shortly, which is indicative of Mehbooba Mufti being influenced by RSS policies.

Accusing PDP BJP Coalition for failing to address urges and aspirations of the people, Congress Leaders said that PDP-BJP Coalition have lost the ground miserably due to its failure and anti-people policies, as a result people across the State are facing difficulties in every respect.

They said Coalition Govt is not even able to regularize daily rated workers, casual labours and those poor people who are working on need basis for a long time, as a result, unemployment has risen considerably in the State.

It is surprising that PDP Leadership talked much about revocation of AFSPA, Return of Power Projects etc, what happened to those promises made during the Elections by PDP, they questioned.

Among others who addressed the gathering included District President Aftab Ahmad Beigh, Fayaz Ahmad Malik, Block Presidents and Prominent Workers. (KNS)
