SRINAGAR — Panic has gripped patients and attendants as the fire continues to rage in Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.

Reports reaching GNS said that the flames have spread in the three-storeyed building, plunging the whole hospital administration besides patients and attendants into a panic.

So far three wards which include Trauma, Recovery and Emergency are engulfed in the blaze, eyewitnesses told GNS.

The fire started from the Emergency Theatre possibly due to a short circuit, they said, adding many of the patients are being evacuated to safer places with the majority of them still stuck inside amid blasts of a few gas cylinders also being heard.
