Car catches fire

PAMPORE — Fire tender was called in after a Santro car caught fire in the premises of car owner in Pampore town of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The incident occurred at Kadlabal Pampore.

Eyewitnesses said that one Bashir Ahmed Rather, the Santro car (JK01R-1346) owner, noticed smoke coming out from the engine and suddenly flames started coming out from its engine compartment.

In absence of any fire extinguisher, fire tender was called in that rushed to spot and doused the flames.

The car was badly damaged in the incident. “The cause of fire is being ascertained,” said a police official.
