Forces bust hideout in southern Kashmir’s Awantipora

PULWAMA — Government forces on Thursday busted a hideout in Awanpora area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district and recovered some “explosive material”.

An official said that during a cordon and search operation by joint team of forces including 42 RR, 130 BN of CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police, a suspicious point was spotted.

He said that the BDS squad was called in and after digging at the suspected spot, a 250 litres Sintex tank was found.

“When its was opened, 416 Neogel, 901 super power explosives besides other incriminating material was recovered,” he said, adding that a case has been registered and further investigation is going on.
