SRINAGAR — In another militant attack, a former Sarpanch was shot dead by militants in Heerpora area of southern Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday evening.
A top police officer told the news agency GNS that this evening, militants fired upon a former Sarpanch namely Ajaz Ahmad Sheikh from a close range.

He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for advanced treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, the whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
