Girl commits suicide in Ganderbal

SRINAGAR — A teenage girl ended her life by consuming some poisonous substance at her home in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday.

Reports reaching here said that a teenage girl (name withheld) was a resident of Ramwari village of Gund area in Ganderbal.

The family members said that the deceased girl was immediately rushed to a local hospital in Gund for treatment from where she was referred to SKIMS Soura. “But doctors at SKIMS declared her as brought dead,” the family said.

Official sources said that the reason for the suicide was not immediately known. However, the police has registered a case under relevant sections of law and further investigations have been initiated in this regard.
