PULWAMA — Authorities have deputed a Tehsildar for three Tehsils in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Thousands of people are suffering due to this temporary arrangement made by the government.
Locals said there is only one Tehsildar for Tral, Aripal and Awantipora Tehsils. “This Tehsildar looks after a Tehsil, leaves two other Tehsils unattended. This practice has created a lot of problems for the people as their grievances and important work is not getting done in time,” said Muhammad Akbar Bhat from Awantipora.
Ghulam Muhammad Dar from Aripal alleged that the Tehsildar has ignored Aripal completely while he frequently attends the office at Awantipora and Tral. He said people leave disappointed after visiting the Tehsil offices as their work is not getting done in absence of the Tehsildar.
“Government created these Tehsils without anyone to look after them. These Tehsils have become a butt of jokes,” the locals said.
Pertinently, like Tehsils, different Blocks are also headless in south Kashmir.
The locals demanded that a Tehsildar should be deputed in each Tehsil so that they don’t suffer anymore.
