Govt asks quarry, tippers association to resume work

Srinagar: The Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar yesterday convened a meeting with a delegation of Quarry and Tippers Association, Pantha Chowk Srinagar regarding grant of Minor Mineral Concession as per SRO-105 of 2016 and asked them to resume their work.

The DC told the Quarry and Tippers Association that the Government has in principle agreed for a breathing period with respect to SRO-105 of 2016 in the interest of General Public and developmental works of the state and during the breathing period extraction of Minor Mineral shall be carried by the existing Quarry holders/Extractors/Consumers and carriers after paying Royalty as per norms.

The quarry and Tippers association were asked to resume their work forthwith in the interest of General Public.

He assured the delegation that their genuine grievances shall be taken up with the government. The Quarry and Tippers Association assured the Deputy Commissioner that following the decision of the government they will resume their normal activities.
