SRINAGAR — A gunfight broke out in north Kashmir’s Sopore area on Friday evening after government forces including of Police, Army and CRPF laid a siege in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight. As per Kashmir Police, the gunfight broke out in Warpora area of Sopore.
“#Encounter has started at #Warpora area of #Sopore. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” a tweet from Kashmir Zone Police read.
As per the sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
