Srinagar: A gunfight raged in Pathan area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday between militants and goverment forces.
Reports reaching here said that a joint team of Army’s 55RR, SOG Pulwama and 183/182 BN CRPF cordoned the suspected area.
As soon as joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon goverment forces triggering an encounter.
A senior Police official confirmed that contact has been established with the hiding militants.
As per sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
Till this report was filed, intermittent firing was going on. (GNS)
