Handwara Case: One of the two ‘accused’ arrested

Srinagar: Police have arrested Hilal Ahmed Bandey, one of the two accused named by Handwara girl in molestation case, reports said on Monday.

The arrest comes two days after the ‘victim’ girl was produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM).

Bandey is one among the two accused in April 12 case which resulted in large scale protests not only in Handwara but in the whole valley.

Five persons were killed in forces actions after the alleged molestation incident.

Government has ordered a probe by Additional District Magistrate into the firing incident of April 12 in Handwara in which three civilians were killed.
