A Wildlife team on Monday captured a ‘Hangul’ in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

SRINAGAR — A Wildlife team on Monday captured a ‘Hangul’ in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district and shifted it to Dachigam National Park Srinagar.

An official said that after the information from locals that a ‘Hangul’ is roaming in Buhoo Awantipora area, Wildlife team from Tral rushed to the spot and after hard efforts, captured the ‘Hangul’.

Hangul or Kashmir Stag is one of the rarest deer in the world found only in Kashmir Valley.

Last year, a ‘Hangul’ was captured from Tral area while a herd of around 6 to 8 deer were seen in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district recently.

The official said that the captured ‘Hangul’ was shifted to Dachigam National Park Srinagar.
