Hurriyat (M) pitches for scholarship to students in Islamic countries

Srinagar, Mar 30: Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq has urged Kashmiris residing in foreign countries to double the efforts of apprising the international community regarding the Kashmir issue. Addressing the gathering at a function organized by Non resident Kashmiris in Jeddah Saudi Arabia, Mirwaiz while calling them as the permanent ambassadors of Kashmiris said, “You are the real and permanent ambassadors of Kashmir and I urge you to continue your endeavor of apprising the international community regarding Kashmir problem.” According to a Hurriyat statement to KNS, Mirwaiz who was accompanied by Barrister Abdul Majeed Trumbo and Prof. Nazir Ahmad Shawl thanked the Kashmiris living in Saudi Arabia for organizing the function. “Kashmir people especially youth are committed to take the movement to its logical conclusion despite numerous hurdles and obstacles coming in their way,” he said. Meanwhile, the three members Hurriyat (M) delegation had meetings with several dignitaries including chairmen of Islamic Development Bank and Islamic Solidarity Fund in which Mirwaiz raised the issues of scholarship for Kashmiri students.
