PULWAMA — J-K Police on Tuesday claimed to have busted a JeM militant module in Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Police said that it received a reliable input regarding activities of Jaish-e-Mohammad militants in Samboora and its adjoining areas of Pampore and it was said the militants were being supported/assisted by ‘terror’ associates.

“Acting upon the information, Awantipora Police with the assistance of Army’s 50 RR and CRPF’s 110 Bn conducted a raid and search in suspected areas of Samboora, during which four militant associates were arrested,” it said.

Police identified them as Zubair Gul, Adil Fayaz, Basit Ali, all residents of Samboora and Shahid Nabi Pandit of Konibal Pampore.

The recovery of incriminating material including a pistol and hand grenade was also claimed to have been made from the possession of the arrested militant associates.

It said the OGWs disclosed that they were in touch with active militant commanders of JeM in the area and were providing logistic support to JeM militants for propagating their ‘terror’ acts and were providing transportation to militants as well.

A case in this regard has been registered at Police Station Pampore.
