SRINAGAR — A surprise Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was conducted in the SD Colony Batamaloo area of Srinagar on Thursday by joint teams of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), sources said.
Security personnel carried out house-to-house searches in the locality as part of the operation, according to the sources.
During the searches, residents’ identity cards were checked and people were frisked by the security personnel, sources said.
Personnel were deployed at various points in the area while searches were conducted inside residential houses.
The operation was carried out as a security measure, the sources said.
