Karnataka driver found dead inside truck in Shopian

SHOPIAN — A driver from the southern Indian state of Karnataka was found dead inside his parked truck at Fruit Mandi Shopian in southern Kashmir.

The victim has been identified as Muhammad Rafiq, a resident of Bengaluru Karnataka.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and started an investigation.

Police said that prima facie, it seems the victim had died due to harsh weather conditions prevailing in the southern district of Shopian.

Shopian Transport Union President Jahangir Ahmed, quoted by the news agency KNT, said that the Union will bear all expenses and will airlift the dead body to his native area. He expressed grief over the incident.
