Kashmir Flash Floods: Rescue operation continues

Srinagar: In view of flood situation caused by incessant rains in Kashmir, rescue operations that were launched by Police in collaboration with civil administration continued for the second consecutive day Friday.
“Today about 400 people have been rescued by Police in Rajpora Shopian from villages Rakh Litter, Wachi and Zainapora along with their cattle and have been shifted to safer places,” an officials statement read.
Meanwhile, in Kanyari village about 150 families are being shifted to degree college Sumbal. Vehicles of 13-RR and police are being being used.
In Kokernag Anantnag, 14 families comprising about 96 people were rescued at Mati Bidhar, in the jurisdiction of police station Kokernag and have been shifted to safer places.
