SRINAGAR — Syed Uzma, a resident of Kupwara in northern Kashmir, has etched her name in history. Selected as the Impact Officer for her hub, Uzma became the first woman from Kashmir to represent the region at the prestigious Global Shapers Annual Summit held in Geneva, Switzerland.
According to Srinagar-based news gathering agency KDC, this international event, organized by the World Economic Forum, brings together young leaders from over 150 countries to discuss pressing issues and plan for a better future.
As per the available details, the Summit, held from July 10 to 12, 2024, provided a unique platform for Uzma to share her vision and experiences with fellow changemakers. She actively participated in discussions, learning valuable strategies and forging connections that can benefit her work in Kashmir.
Her participation signifies a significant milestone, not just for Uzma herself, but for the entire Kashmir hub of the Global Shapers Community.
“We are incredibly proud of Syed Uzma’s accomplishment,” said one of her colleagues at the Srinagar Global Shappers Hub.
“Her dedication to social change and her leadership qualities were instrumental in her selection for this prestigious event. Uzma’s participation at the Global Shapers Annual Summit is a testament to the incredible work being done by young people in Kashmir,” he said.
