Lady jumps into river Jhelum

SRINAGAR — A lady allegedly attempted to commit suicide by jumping into river Jhelum from Safa Kadal on Saturday afternoon.

However, she was rescued by locals at Veer area of Chattabal and has been shifted to a hospital.

Sources said that a lady (name withheld) was rescued by locals after she jumped into river Jhelum here, adding that she has been shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment.

They added that her condition was stated to be stable.

Police team from Safa Kadal has also reached the spot and have started investigation into the matter.
