SRINAGAR — The Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar on Thursday said that the militant killed in Harwan encounter has been identified as Saifulla alias Abu Khalid alias Shawaz of Karachi Pakistan and was affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit.

The IGP told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the slain militant had infiltrated in 2016 and was active in Harwan area of Srinagar. “He was involved in several crime cases.”

Notably, police had said that a militant was killed in the wee hours today during a brief encounter in Harwan area of Srinagar.

Meanwhile, IGP also said that three Pakistani militants have been killed in Srinagar city in the last 33 days, who were involved in several cases including attacks on police, security forces and civilian killings.

Kumar said that this shows that Pakistan is hell-bent to disturb peace in Valley, especially in Srinagar city.
