Locals protest unauthorized road construction in Pulwama village

PULWAMA — Tensions continue to escalate in Gund Achan village of Pulwama district as the locals demand the immediate removal of a road constructed overnight by a local businessman.

The road, which was reportedly built to serve a stone crusher business, has sparked outrage among the villagers, who claim it was constructed without proper permissions and disrupts the area’s environment and infrastructure.

According to the news agency ANB, the Tehsildar of Litter, along with a team of officials, visited the area to assess the situation. During the visit, the Tehsildar assured the public that appropriate action would be taken against the owner of the stone crusher for violating regulations.

Locals have raised concerns about the damage to the environment, as well as the safety hazards posed by the newly constructed road.

They have demanded that the authorities act to remove the road and halt the operation of the stone crusher, which they say was built at the cost of the village’s well-being.

As the protest continues, residents are determined to ensure that their voices are heard, and they are calling on the administration to enforce stricter regulations and protect the area from further harm.
