SRINAGAR — A militant has been killed and a CRPF personnel injured in a gunfight between militants and government forces in Malabagh area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.
A senior Police officer said that one militant has been killed and a CRPF personnel also died in the encounter.
The CRPF personnel was critically injured and was shifted to a nearby hospital where he succumbed, the officer added.
Earlier, a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Malabagh.
As the joint team approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.
