Mulberry trees to be felled in Tral’s only stadium


TRAL — Putting an end to the long pending demands of cricketers here pertaining to the pathetic condition of stadium, an order was issued on Thursday, asking concerned department to cut down the Mulberry trees on Tral’s lone stadium in Bajwani area.

Sources said that soon after the order was issued, Sericulture department in Tral immediately ordered auction of the said trees.

The locals, particularly cricketers, have expressed pleasure after the order related to the cutting of Mulberry trees in Bajwani stadium was issued today.

They thanked the concerned departments for their tireless efforts to make the cutting down of Mulberry trees possible, as the said trees used to be the hurdle for players while playing cricket matches there.

One of the cricketers said that he was waiting for this day from the last twenty years as the cutting down of these trees was their main demand. He said that all the cricket lovers must be rejoicing at their respective places after knowing about this news.

It is pertinent to mention here that in this connection, a team visited Tral today to ensure the process of cutting down of these trees is started at the earliest.
