PULWAMA — In pursuance of the National Legal Service Authority calendar and under the directions of J&K Legal Services Authority, a National Lok Adalat was organized in District Court Complex Pulwama under the Chairmanship of Mr. Abdul Rashid Malik, Chairman District Legal Service Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Pulwama.

The said National Lok Adalat was inaugurated by the Chairman District Legal Service Authority Pulwama in presence of all Judicial officers & Bar members.

Six benches were constituted out of which three benches were constituted for holding of National Lok Adalat at district headquarters & other three benches at Tehsil level of the district.

At Pulwama headquarter, Bench 1 was headed by Mr. Abdul Rashid Malik and assisted by Reyaz Ahmed Choudhary, Secretary DLSA Pulwama. Second bench was headed by Mr. Meraj U Din Sofi, Additional District & Sessions Judge Pulwama and assisted by Mr. Sheikh Gowhar Hussain, Sub. Judge Special Mobile Magistrate Pulwama and the third bench was headed by Mr. Sandeep Gandotra, Chief Judicial Magistrate Pulwama and was assisted by Mr. Faizan-Ul-Nazar, Munsiff / JMIC Pulwama.

At National Lok Adalat in Tral, the Bench was headed by Mr. Altaf Ahmed Mir, Munsiff / JMIC Tral and assisted by President Bar Association. At Pampore, the Bench was headed by Mr. Junaid Imtiaz Mir and was assisted by President of Bar Association. At Awantipora, the Bench was headed by Mr. Raja Arshad and he was assisted by the President of Bar Association Awantipora.

All these benches were also assisted by the Mediator, Panel Lawyer, and PLVs of their respective jurisdiction.

A total of 1290 cases of different nature including Criminal Compoundable, Matrimonial, Maintenance, Cheque Bounce, Civil, Recovery, MACT-Litigation and Pre-Litigation were taken up before these six benches out of which 1129 cases were amicably settled and an amount of Rs. 1,18,58,024 was realized and an amount of Rs. 1,15,87,274 lacs has been settled in MACT, Bank recovery & 138 N.I. Act cases with the efforts of the presiding officers as well as by the cooperation of Bar members of the respective Courts.

Members of Bar, Bank Managers, and people at large participated in the National Lok Adalat through virtual means and physically on need basis after observing all SOPs of the COVID-19 and under the various guidelines of High court of J&K.Chairman District legal Services Authority Pulwama for information please.
