SRINAGAR — A newly recruited militant of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) was apprehended by government forces in Shopian village of south Kashmir on Thursday evening.
Reports reaching here said that a joint team of Army’s 44 RR, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation at village Marheng Keegam.
“During the operation, one militant namely Junaid Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammad Abdullah of Arihal, Pulwama was arrested by the joint team,” they said.
Confirming it, a police officer said that the militant had joined the JeM outfit recently and his picture wielding gun had also gone viral which is being investigated, the officer said.
