BANDIPORA — A 51-year old man was killed while three others were injured from a nomad tribal community during a scuffle over the erection of a tent at Panar village in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A Police official said that on Wednesday evening, a family of nomads, who were establishing their tent temporarily at Kachi Behak (meadow), were opposed by some persons of Panar village and attacked upon the nomads, resulting in the injuries of three persons including a female.
He said all the injured were immediately shifted to District Hospital Bandipora for treatment; however one injured identified as Mohammad Iqbal Kalas (51) son of Mohammad Ali succumbed to his injuries.
The dead body is lying in District Hospital Bandipora for post-mortem and other two injured identified as Ranja Pokda (70) and Rohi Akther, daughter of Showket Kathana, both residents of Anderwat Rajouri, have been admitted at SDH Bandipora.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the matter and registered a case in this regard.
