Now, online driving licenses to be issued by RTO Kashmir

Srinagar, July 12: In an effort to end tout culture, Regional Transport Office (RTO) Kashmir will be providing the licenses online.
According to officials at RTO Kashmir office, the facility to fill up the form for ‘learning licenses’ would commence probably from Monday.
“The aspirants have to file an online form giving all necessary details therein. They will get the date for visiting the office for taking photograph and the learning license would be issued to them on spot,” they informed.
They said all the formalities have been put in place and officials are in touch with technical teams to finalize the process online.
The RTO officials informed that submission of fee would also be made online shortly. “Officials are in process to sign memorandum of understanding (MoU) with J&K bank to provide the facility of online fee submission,” they added.
“After successfully providing the online facility for learning, initiatives would be taken to provide online facility for applying permanent licenses and registration of vehicles.” RTO Kashmir Mehmood Shah said that it is an effort to end the tout culture.
Pertinently, Shah had directed his subordinates to put an end to the ‘tout culture’ for issuing driving licenses as they want people to get their licenses after undergoing trial at a spruced-up track at Parimpora.
