Nurse found dead in rented room at Soura

SRINAGAR — The dead body of a 37-year-old nurse from south Kashmir was found in her rented accommodation in Soura locality of Srinagar on Tuesday.

Identified as Aafrooza Akhter, wife of Raouf Ahmad Shah of Thamankoot, Verinag in Anantnag district, the deceased nurse was working in a private hospital in Soura Srinagar, namely Trust Hospital and there was no visible injury on her body, an official said.

The official said that her body was found on Tuesday morning in her rented accommodation in Soura, Srinagar, where she was putting up since a long period.

Afroza was found unconscious in her rented accommodation and upon receiving the information, police rushed to the spot but only to find that the nurse was already dead.

The dead body was taken into the custody by the police and sent to hospital for completing medico-legal formalities in order to hand over it to her family for the last rites.

Apparently, the nurse died due to cardiac arrest, the officer said, adding that police has started further investigations to ascertain the actual cause of death.
