SRINAGAR — In an administrative shuffle, Omprakash Pande has been appointed as the new Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for Central Kashmir, according to an official order.
The order, issued in the interest of efficient administration, states that Omprakash Pande, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the AGMUT cadre from the 2010 batch, will assume the role of DIG for Central Kashmir range.
Pande’s appointment follows his repatriation to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Pande’s posting comes as a replacement for Altaf Ahmad Khan, also an IPS officer, who had been holding the additional charge of the DIG position. Khan will now be relieved of these duties, as per the order.
