PULWAMA — J-K Police on Monday claimed that they have arrested three drug peddlers during a Naka in Tengpona area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

In a statement issued here, Pulwama Police mentioned that a police party from PS Pulwama during patrolling at Tengpona Pulwama intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK13D-0351 in which three persons were travelling.

“During the search, 53 kilograms of poppy straw and 3 grams of brown sugar were recovered,” police statement said.

It added, “Immediately, police arrested all the three accused persons and identified them as Ishfaq Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohd Yousuf Sheikh, resident of Tengpuna Pulwama, Nazir Ahmad Dar son of Ab Rehman Dar, resident of Tengpuna Pulwama and Fayaz Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar, resident of Tengpuna Pulwama.”

The statement added that a case FIR No. 184/21 U/S 8/15, 21 NDPS has been registered at PS Pulwama and investigation has been taken up.

Pulwama Police has sought cooperation from the general public for information to control the menace in Pulwama.
