Army tying Kashmiri youth to a jeep during by-polls in Srinagar-Budgam constituency

Srinagar: Days after a video of Army tying Kashmiri youth to a jeep in Budgam district went viral, police said it has registered an FIR against Army.

Police said it has registered an FIR No. under 38/17 US 342/149/506 and 367 RPC against Army in police station Beerwah in Budgam district.

The police said that investigation is being conducted by SDPO Magam has been against the Army’s 53 RR unit.

DIG Police Central Kashmir, Ghulam Hassan Bhat confirmed that the police has registered the FIR on April 13.

The youth in the video was identified as Farooq Ahmad Dar son of Abdur Rahim Dar of Chill area in Khansahib segment of Budgam district. The incident happened on April 13 when re-polling was held in Budgam for Srinagar Parliamentary seat. (KNS)
