Policeman killed, two injured as jail inmate snatches cop’s rifle in SMHS

Srinagar: A policeman was killed while two others sustained bullet injures when a jail inmate attacked them at SMHS hospital here in Srinagar.

Official sources said that the inmate snatched rifle of one of the inmate and opened fire upon them.

Three cops are said to have sustained bullet injuries in the attack among which one succumbed to his injuries. The inmate fled from the spot along with the rifle.

SOG, Police and CRPF immediately cordoned off the area and started searches to trace out the attacker.

Meanwhile, panic gripped the SMHS hospital following the firing incident. (With GNS, GKNN Inputs)
