SPO dies after coming under Chinar branch in Pattan

BARAMULLA — A cop riding on a motor-cycle died of severe head injuries after a branch of a Chinar fell on him on Srinagar-Baramulla highway near Pattan area on Saturday. The incident took place near Power Development Department office.

Eyewitnesses said that the rider lost his balance when a branch fell on him and he suffered severe head injuries. Locals tried to evacuate him to hospital, however, he died on the spot.

They said some pedestrians were also on the road when the branch fell on the rider. The deceased was working as PSO in Police Department.

He has been identified as Manzoor Ahmed, a resident of Kripalpora Payeen Pattan.
