
KUPWARA — In a major operation carried out by a joint team of security forces including Kupwara Police, Army’s 3 Naga and 97 Bn BSF in northern Kashmir’s frontier Kupwara district, a cache of arms and ammunition were recovered.
An official quoted by a local news agency said that on specific information of Kupwara Police, a checkpoint was established at Lone Harie area and during checking, a militant associate namely Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, son of Abdul Rahman Lone, a resident of Patru Keran, was successfully apprehended by the forces.
A substantial quantity of arms and ammunition have been recovered from his possession, as per the forces, which includes two pistols, two pistol magazines, 10 hand grenades and 54 9mm rounds.
Meanwhile, a formal case has been registered in Police Station Kralpora in this regard and an investigation has been taken up.
