SRINAGAR — A day after her two sons were booked under UAPA for raising slogans at their father’s funeral, the wife of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chairman late Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai suffered mild heart attack on Monday.
Younis Rather, Sehrai’s son-in-law said that Sara Ashraf suffered a mild heart attack in the afternoon when she learnt about her sons being booked under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
“She heard that her two sons have been booked under UAPA. She felt pain in her chest and was taken to hospital where doctors said she has suffered a mild heart attack. Now, she is home and stable. Doctors have advised us to immediately refer her to hospital in case of complications,” he said.
According to him, he along with Sara’s grandson were present at home when she complained about chest pain.
Sehrai died in custody in Jammu a day after being shifted from Udhampur jail to Government Medical College Jammu on May 5.
It is pertinent to mention that two sons of Sehrai were arrested under UAPA allegedly for raising anti-national slogans during the funeral of their father and Hurriyat Chairman Ashraf Sehrai.
