Seminar on ‘role of educated youth in propagating Islam’ held

Srinagar, Dec 9: A seminar titled “The Role of Educated Youth in Propagating Islam” was organized in R. P. School here on Friday in which Ulema and students emphasized people to equip themselves with Islamic teachings and revive their Iman by fullfilling Islamic duties.
The function was presided over by Dr Nazir Ahmad who is an expert in comparative religion. Besides him, a galaxy of Ulema including Mufti Abdul Raseed patron of Darul-Uloom Bilaliya Lalbazar, Maulana Bilal Ahmad Qasmi, Maulana Muneer Ahmad Nadvi and others participated.
Students from R. P. School Alamdar Colony, R. P. School Malabagh, Green Valley Education Institute Illahi Bagh, Eve’s Garden Educational Institute Lal Bazar, Green Land Educational Institute Hawal, Alnoor Model School Safakadal, Ramzan Memorial Educational Institute Soura, Legends School Kanitar and Mars Educational School Ali Jan Road participated in the seminar.
The speakers delivered speeches and read papers at the seminar exhorting Muslims in general and students in particular to go back to Islam to combat any kind of threat or challenge posed by Christian missionaries. They emphasized their fellow students to equip themselves with Islamic teachings and revive their Iman by fullfilling Islamic duties.
The chief guest Dr Nazir Ahmad shed light on the golden period of Islam when Europe was in dark ages. He mentioned the universities of Garnada and Teledo in which European students learnt different science subjects and became the driving force of renaissance in Europe.
Mufti Rashid reminded the students of their responsibilities towards their religion. He said, “Kalimah Toiba is only to get admission in Islam and then there are many subjects like Salah, Zakat and Haj and others.” He further said, “You can be a good Muslim if you fulfill the etiquettes and pass all these subjects of this Nabavi School.”
The seminar ended with heart rendering dua of Mufti Sahib. Later prizes were distributed among the participants.
