Srinagar: A 45-year-old woman Jameela Begum (Khala) wife of Muhammad Yousuf Bhat of Gulshan Ali Shalimar was allegedly stabbed to death by her neighbors during scuffle last evening.
As per Jameela’s nephew Zulfikar, his aunt was attacked by her neighbors during a heated argument when she was out to visit another family in the locality.
“During scuffle the accused punched on her neck. She fell unconscious. The locals rushed her to nearby clinic, were from she was taken to JLMN hospital Rainawari but on way she succumbed,” the bereaved said.
They staged protests in the locality demanding strict action against the accused.
When contacted, SHO Harwan Anzar Khan said both families had strained relations for the past many years. He said police has filed a case vide FIR No 56/2014 but that the accused was at large.
